Marlin Madness 2019 Magic Lady Wins again!

The Trinidad and Tobago Game Fishing Association’s/TTGFA’s 39th International “Marlin Madness” tournament that was held recently at Crown Point, Tobago.  

 

The winning team Magic Lady, captained by Michael De Freitas and crew members Francois Mouttet,  Barry Williams, Christian Hadeed, Isaiah Aleong and Ryan Agard released fifteen billfish to win the top prize of best boat. The team goes on to represent Trinidad in the Offshore World Championship in Quepos, Costa Rica in 2020.

 

Team Afunday, captained by Adrian De Silva placed second overall with Predator, captained by Brendan Farfan in third place.

 

There were seven boats entered in the tournament with thirty four anglers including one Junior Angler. Between them all, they released thirty one Billfish, six Blue Marlin and twenty five Sailfish.  A total of 229.5 lbs. of fish were brought to the scale which included Dolphin, Wahoo and Yellow fin Tuna.

 

Ryan Agar, on board Magic Lady was named best overall angler and Luke Frankland on board Family III was named best junior Angler.

 

At the prize-giving function, the Treasurer of the TTGFA, Alan Sheppard, thanked the many sponsors including the Ministry of Sport, The Office of the Prime Minister Sport and Culture Fund, The Tobago House of Assembly – Division of Tourism, Culture and Transportation, Carib Brewery, Malabar Farms, Reel Tackle & Seafood Ltd, Casfab Ltd, AB Delima & Co, Gatorade and LP Marine & industrial Services limited.
